As a member of our MedTech team, you will play an important role in designing, developing, verifying, and managing the lifecycle of embedded electronic and firmware solutions for innovative medical devices used in blood parameter monitoring and diabetes care. Working closely with experts from various disciplines, you will contribute to challenging projects, develop innovative solutions, and help deliver products that create value for our customers worldwide.

You are part of our MedTech Team and accountable for the design, development, verification, and lifecycle management of embedded electronics and firmware. In this role, you develop, oversee, and maintain electronic hardware, embedded software, and sensor integration solutions for innovative medical devices.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Design, develop, integrate, and verify embedded electronic systems and firmware for innovative medical devices used in blood parameter monitoring and diabetes care
  • Translate product and system requirements into robust electronic hardware and embedded firmware solutions, from feasibility studies and prototyping through industrialization and manufacturing transfer
  • Develop embedded firmware in C/C++ for microcontroller-based systems and contribute to the definition of software architecture and design
  • Design analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronic circuits, including sensor interfaces, communication modules, and battery-powered devices
  • Create, review, and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, design descriptions, test plans, verification reports, and software documentation
  • Build, test, and optimize prototypes and pre-production electronic assemblies to support product development
  • Perform hardware bring-up, electronic debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
  • Plan and execute verification activities, including simulations, reliability assessments, functional testing, and design reviews to ensure product performance and quality
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams across Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, and Product Management
  • Support requirements management, risk management, and compliance activities in accordance with applicable medical device standards and quality requirements
  • Evaluate and integrate sensors, wireless communication technologies (BLE, Wi-Fi), and other embedded technologies into next-generation products
  • Coordinate and contribute to external development activities, working effectively with suppliers and development partners when required
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence throughout the product lifecycle

YOUR PROFILE

  • Degree in electronics engineering, or equivalent experience and expertise
  • Proven experience with product development from concept to manufacturing
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in electronic product development
  • Proven experience with specifications, design, and development of electronic systems, preferably in a regulated environment such as pharmaceuticals or the medical device industry
  • Proven experience in analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design, including schematic capture, component selection, and PCB design/review
  • Hands-on experience in electronic debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
  • Experience in development of firmware for products and prototypes
  • Experience in Programming, particularly in C and C++
  • Experience in analysis and documentation of specifications, preparation of technical documentation, Software documentation
  • Experience in conducting tests and code reviews
  • Experience in building, testing, and improving functional models, prototypes, and 0-series electronics
  • Hands-on experience in prototype assembly, soldering and hardware debugging
  • Excellent communication skills in English; German is an advantage
  • Swiss work authorization or eligibility to work in Switzerland

PREFERRED

  • Knowledge of System Engineering and requirements management
  • Experience working with standards and guidelines, creating test plans, and conducting feasibility studies
  • Experience in electronic design verification through simulation, reliability calculation, and testing
  • Experience in sensor interfacing, wireless device development (BLE, Wi-Fi), Battery-powered devices
  • Experience working with Agile methods such as Scrum
  • Confident in managing outsourcing and conducting negotiations with external suppliers
  • Experience with PCB layout design and review
  • Familiarity with Altium Designer
