Continuing steadily on our sustainable innovation path and growth journey, we are looking for a

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER 

for our Biotech  department 

You translate multidisciplinary product requirements into robust mechanical designs and develop functional models and prototypes to validate concepts.

You are responsible for the mechanical design workflow and its proper documentation, from concept to market release, ensuring performance, manufacturability, reliability, and compliance with applicable standards.

You create 3D models and detailed drawings with proper GD&T and contribute to the definition of technical specifications. You collaborate closely with systems engineering, electronics engineering, quality, science, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical solutions into the overall system architecture.

You support supplier selection and technical discussions with the client and external partners and contribute to cost optimization and design for manufacturing (DFM/DFA).

YOUR PROFILE

• You have a Bachelor’s degree (ETH/FH or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree is nice to have.
• You have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in mechanical/product development in multidisciplinary and regulated environments, preferably in life sciences.
• You are an expert user of SolidWorks (modelling, assemblies, drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis).
  Experience with SolidWorks PDM is a strong plus. Experience with simulation tools (FEA) is a plus.
• You are experienced in developing mechanical concepts, detailed designs, and technical documentation, including specifications and drawings.
• You have solid knowledge of applicable machinery and laboratory equipment safety standards, particularly IEC 61010-1. Familiarity with ISO 12100 and risk assessment methodologies is nice to have.
• You understand key manufacturing processes, particularly sheet metal fabrication and machining, and consistently apply DFM/DFA principles in your designs. Experience with injection molding and additive manufacturing is a plus.
• You are an independent, structured, and solution-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a pragmatic mindset.
• You work effectively in highly collaborative and agile environments and communicate effectively across technical domains and organizational levels.
• You are fluent in English. German knowledge is a plus.
